I resemble that remark!
Proof positive I was using gel even back then! But it was probably Butch Wax or Brylcream, two products that were mercifully taken off the market.
Or maybe that foul-smelling White Rain aerosol. It was great for removing ball point pen stains but a killer if it got in your eyes.
