Just in time for Father's Day...

...our first car.

I think we paid $700 for a nine-year-old 1967 Mustang. It was NOT the race version. It had a straight-6 engine and a 3-speed tranny. (It did have a cool Hurst shifter, though.)

After driving it for a year or so, we decided to repaint it. Garth turned his one-car garage into a spray booth by covering the shelves with plastic, hosing down the air, pulling the car in and closing the door. He used a box fan cut into the door to create negative air pressure in the garage.

Actually, everything he painted turned out looking very nice.

This photo shows not only the finished product but Garth's International Scout, Ella's Pinto and Garda's Galaxy as well.

It was a great car and we were super-cool in it. Too bad it didn't go up hills in a snowstorm so well...or hold a big baby car seat in the back so well. These are great photos. I think we have one somewhere with you and me standing beside it soon after we got married. You picked a good one!
