Christmas Eve: Our Nativity play was a bit sparse with just three people, so we each provided a representative sample of the major Nativity groups: Angels, Wise Men, and Shepherds. The light-up gingerbread man donned a robe to portray Joseph, Mary came from the largest available creche set, and the Baby was played by the usual doll found in the Nativity Costume Box.
We read the scriptures, sang, and had a great time as can be seen by our expressions below in our first point-the-camera-at-yourself-and-click photo ever. Afterward Clarissa requested a session of singing Christmas songs, which we did until our voices got too tired to go on.
Santa and his helpers were very kind to us. Susan's rubber chicken collection was augmented by a Who Comes First The Chicken or the Egg racing game and branched out to a rubber goose dog toy that makes quite a sound. She was also very pleased to finally receive a twig pen to replace the old one that ran out of lead.
Doug was just happy to get some new pens for the Pen Museum and Clarissa's new gym shoes will keep her ahead of the pack for sure.
Perhaps at the pinnacle of our gifting was a bag of marbles. Yes, we found our marbles, all 60 of them and they even match. So the next time you come to our house to play Chinese Checkers you will actually be able to tell which ones are yours! Shocker, right???
